KTB-1704 Aluminum-Magnesium Alloy Ruggedized Portable Computer

We have deployed 5 units of the KTB-1704 on our workshop production line, mainly used to connect PLCs and collect equipment data. The workshop temperature fluctuates greatly (reaching over 40℃ in summer). The ordinary portable computers we used before often crashed, but after switching to this model, there have been no failures for 3 months.

The aluminum-magnesium alloy body of the KTB-1704 is really durable. I accidentally dropped it at the construction site last time, but it still worked perfectly after picking it up. The 17.3-inch high-brightness screen allows clear viewing of data even in direct sunlight, and the 300cd/m² brightness is not an exaggerated claim. In addition, the wide-voltage input is extremely practical—it can be stably powered by a temporary generator in the field, eliminating the need to carry additional voltage regulators and saving a lot of trouble.

The 4 full-length expansion slots are very flexible. After adding a data acquisition card, it can connect to 3 testing instruments simultaneously, with stable data synchronization. We have used it for more than half a year, and there have been no heat dissipation issues. The fan noise is also low, so it won’t disturb the operators in the workshop.

The KTB-1704 has FCC and CE certifications, so we encountered no compliance problems during customs clearance or use in European and American workshops. In actual use, its anti-vibration performance exceeded expectations—it still started and operated normally after being transported from the headquarters to the German factory, despite the bumps along the way.

The portable computers we purchased previously failed within less than 3 months—either the keyboard got stuck due to oil ingress or the device crashed due to poor heat dissipation. After switching to the KTB-1704, its aluminum-magnesium alloy body is easy to clean; oil stains can be wiped off easily, and the 88-key ultra-thin keyboard has never had key-sticking issues. The built-in 1225 cooling fan is highly effective: even when the workshop temperature reaches 45℃, the device only feels slightly warm, and it can run continuously for 8 hours to collect welding data stably.

The 300cd/m² screen works perfectly for viewing exploration drawings and analyzing data in outdoor sunlight. Even if the capacitive touchpad gets a little muddy, it still operates smoothly after being wiped clean. The most pleasant surprise is the optional DVD±RW—when we need to read historical exploration data from optical discs on-site, there’s no need to carry an external optical drive, which is extremely convenient.
